Get rid of dog falling hair:

You often find little hair of your pets all over households i.e. carpets, furniture, rugs, and even on your dresses as well. No part of the home is free from them. Many times, pet hair care becomes a real nuisance. Pet hair is so small that you have to pick up with just your hands. Following tips would help keep your home hair free.
  1. Brush your dog every day. It will reduce the hair falling of your dogs as well as flaky skin. Therefore, experts recommend daily brushing of dogs for at least five minutes a day. This thing will allow you to spend a quality time with your lovely pet.
  2. Brush your dog at a selected place of your home. You don’t need to brush your dog wherever you like such as living room, TV room, garage, etc. You will have to restrict this activity to a combing place to avoid an extra burden of cleanliness of whole home after every brushing. Bathroom or a dressing room is the perfect place for brushing your dog.
  3. Swiffer and Lint rollers are the best companions for dog owners. These must-have items grab hair, dust, and other polluted elements that make dirty your place.

Get rid of pet odors:

  1. You never want your home to smell like a dog house. I’ve learned how to get rid of pet’s typical smell in the quickest way while using at home cheapest ingredients or items.
  2. A bag of charcoal is a miracle when it comes to getting rid of pet smell. You can place this bag any free space at height in the area that is packed with dog’s odor.
  3. Place a plate full of sliced apples in the area and let it sit for a few days. I don't know what actually does take place, but you certainly get rid of pet’s smell. I am sure; apples have the power to absorb the odor really well. It sounds funny, but it really works.
  4. Baking soda is an awesome ingredient that has great ability to kill any type of smell. Sprinkle it on a carpet and leave it for two hours. After that, vacuum it and you’ll notice the marked difference in the tinting smell.

Get rid of muddy paws:

It is not that easy that your muddy dog moves in your home and you are behind him while carrying a mop to clean up the floor. Make your life easier by following trick.

Summer Safety Tips For Pets

Summer is the most exciting and favorite season for the pets because they find a great opportunity to go outdoor and enjoy bathing a lot. Indeed, summer is good for pets, but scorching heat of sun can create major health issues in pets. So, be careful while going out with your pets. Today, I will mention some summer safety tips for pets. I hope, these tips will aware the pet owners about how to keep their pet safe and cool in the hot summer.

Safe your pet from heat exhaustion:

Heat exhaustion is very common in pets in hot and humid days of summer. It may lead to dehydration and overheating in both humans and animals. Therefore, you must take care of your pet and ensure best health of your lovely animal.
  • Make it sure that your pet has fresh water available all the time. Unsanitary and polluted water of pools, paddles and ponds can be a big risk for the health.
  • Change the drinking water of animal’s water pot frequently because it may become the source of bacteria growth.

Adequate ventilation system in the car:

We usually love to take our cat and dog along in the car and let them sit in the car until we complete our shopping in the super store or market. Please use common sense and don’t make sit your pet alone in the car in such a humid and hot weather. You can take them with you easily. If you still don’t want to take your pet with you, bear in mind that cars can heat up quickly, even with windows partially open. Therefore, adequate ventilation is essential where ever your pet stays.

Protect your pet from heat strokes:

Proper use of common sense can save your pet from extreme heat effects. Give proper outdoor housing to your pets. Bear in mind that pets can get tangled up with chains that can restrict their movements. Sometimes, it can lead to a big tragedy and heavy loss and this can be prevented through just awareness.

Deafness In Cats: Some Quick Facts

It is really hard to absorb that my cat is deaf. We never expect that animals can suffer from hearing loss as well like human beings. You should not take it to heart, because it isn’t a life threatening disease. You should not think about the way that your pet will not survive more. Believe it! You can spend years and years with your lovely kittens as normal as you have passed previous years with them. You need to know authentic information of deafness in cats, take your pet to a vet for right diagnosis and early treatment. Your cat with hearing loss demands extra care from your side and I think that she should meet. After knowing deafness in cats, our next question is like this: partial deafness or complete deafness; deafness in one ear or in both ears. Below are answers to some important questions that I asked from a vet when my darling cat is diagnosed with partial deafness.

Is deafness in cats a dangerous condition?

No, deafness in cats isn’t a dangerous condition at all. Don’t worry! Early detection and proper treatment on time is essential for the well being of your lovely pet. You can easily overcome the hearing loss in your cats. It can be treated with medication, hearing exercises and therapies, hearing devices and surgery. All depends on the cause it originates.

How to test cats for deafness at home?

Your cat can be deaf in one ear or in both ears. Here I am going to mention some simple tests of deafness that you can do at home easily without the help of experts, professionals, and vets.
  • Check your pet with a loud sound near to him. Check with if your cat responds to the sound or not.
  • Also check with if your pet is responding to your commands or not? You cat does wake up through your calls rather you have to wake her up when you touch physically.
  • Next, observe the continuous shaking of deaf pets’ head and pawing at their ears.
  • Other diagnostic procedures include the BAER Test or Brainstorm Auditory Evoked Response Test that are tested by vets only. This test uses electrodes to determine the neuro-electrical activities in the brain that are associated with hearing. This test is only conducted by the vet.

Is deafness a hereditary factor in cats?

Yes, deafness in cats can be inherited. Research shows that cats that inherit white coat genes and blue iris genes are predisposed to deafness.

What is the treatment for deafness in cats?

Treatment is offered to cats with hearing loss after physical examination and diagnostic tests by the professionals. If deafness in cats is due to conduction, this problem can easily be solved through by cleaning the ears. Be minded that cleanliness of ears must be carried out by the experienced vets.
  • Antibiotics can remove the deafness in cats if the reason of hearing loss would be ear infection.
  • Sensorineural deafness in cats requires medication and surgical treatment.
  • Hearing aids are also used to solve the problem of hearing loss in pets. But such devices must be used with vet prescription. Initially, a pet feels discomfort with hearing aids, but its regular use decreases the uneasiness and discomfort.

I hope, my blogpost will be informative for all of you. I asked more interesting, general and specific questions from the vet such as how to communicate with a deaf cat and many more, which I will describe in the coming post. So, wait for the next post of deafness in cats.
