Pet lovers keep the pets away from the substances that they consider extremely harmful for them such as cleaning detergents, medicines, and household chemicals. But, they are few who know that there are many substances that are absolutely safe for human beings, but extremely poison for their pets. So, I thought why don’t I share information about the fruits that you love to eat, but they are toxic to your dogs.

1. Apples: The seeds of apples can be toxic to dogs. The toxic ingredient is present in the mid of apple seed. So, you should not allow your dog to chew and crush the apple seeds with the teeth. Give the deseeded slices of apples to your dogs!
2. Avocados: Avocados contain a toxin know as “Persin” that leads to cardiovascular issues in the dogs. Avocado ingestion becomes the one of the major cause of fluid accumulation around the heart and many other critical respiratory complications. So, you enjoy the avocado, but forget about feeding it to your puppy.
3. Grapes and Raisins: The exact reason and toxic ingredient in grapes is not yet known, but dogs show the signs of poisoning usually within 24 hours after intake of grapes and raisins made food.  Grapes ingestion cause acute renal failure with lack of urine production (anuria). It’s not okay if you give even small number of grapes to your dog as treat. Even small amounts of grapes and raisins can be poisonous for some species of dogs.
4. Berries (either red or yellow): Berries intake in around 20 can lead to death in dogs. Bark, leaves, and seeds of holly berries are extremely poisonous. So, avoid berries as treats for your dogs.
5. Bittersweet berries: American bittersweets are known for having highest toxic substance in them, including all parts. This poisonous fruit to dogs does hit directly gastrointestinal tract and the central nervous system. So, keep bittersweet berries away from your lovely puppies and dogs at all cost.
6. Peach: The pulp of the peach does not have any harmful impact on the body of your dog, but the problem arises with the seeds or pits of peaches. They contain cyanide, which is a potentially deadly chemical that can cause inflammation of the small intestine in dogs.

Therefore, to save from emotional trauma, we should try to keep their routine as normal as possible. We should not forget to hug them on different times of the day when we usually do.
• Home decorations at Christmas last for few days and some are weighty and others are light. A few electric instruments are also installed into them. Animals love to explore their environment especially the things they find new around them. These new beautiful glittering decorations at home get waste when our dog or cat pulls them down and becomes the reason of breakage of these costly items. In other cases, such accidents can also injure the pets.  So, keep Christmas decorations out of reach of pets.
• Vets always recommend: keep your pets in a quiet room when you have a plan to play loud bangs or to use crackers and party poppers at Christmas. Animals often get scared at loud bangs and explosions. Therefore, vets always suggest it to all pet owners.

What can you do in such a pet emergency?

• Try to keep your pet as still as possible after the accident. Any types of movement can be life threatening or cause internal injuries to the animal.

• If your pet does not move, take a sheet, most preferable blanket and shift your animal over it carefully. Use blanket as stretcher and move the injured pet through it to get him to emergency hospital.

• Don’t touch open wounds with your hands or anything else. You can just place clean compresses on them and make arrangements to take the injured pet to the emergency hospital.

Constipation:

When your pet is facing big problem in passing out the stool or releasing small stool and less than three times a week that means your animal is having constipation. There are many causes of constipation, but what should you do immediately to take him to the vet. Here is the home remedy that works the best.

Take a glass of hot water and squeeze a lemon into it or dissolve 1/4^th to 1 teaspoon of Magnesium Citrate powder (according to the age of your pet). Mix it well and help pet to drink this water. • Check your pet with a loud sound near to him. Check with if your cat responds to the sound or not.
• Also check with if your pet is responding to your commands or not? You cat does wake up through your calls rather you have to wake her up when you touch physically.
• Next, observe the continuous shaking of deaf pets’ head and pawing at their ears.
• Other diagnostic procedures include the BAER Test or Brainstorm Auditory Evoked Response Test that are tested by vets only. This test uses electrodes to determine the neuro-electrical activities in the brain that are associated with hearing. This test is only conducted by the vet.

Yes, deafness in cats can be inherited. Research shows that cats that inherit white coat genes and blue iris genes are predisposed to deafness.

Yes, acne in cats is a reality, not a myth. Most of the times, when we think of acne, human beings especially teenagers come to our mind. We do not imagine that our lovely pets can get acne like us. Cats and dogs both get acne, but their age is not specific. They can get acne at any age and any time. Most of the time acne in cats does not annoy our pets. However, feline acne is not so common; it starts at around a year old and has a tendency to show up and disappear.

How to recognize acne in cats?

Acne in cats and dogs appear as the small red bumps and blackheads localized around the lips and chin. Sometimes, these spots look like dirt particles and other times, may lead to swollen, red, pustules, that may cause bleeding and irritation. Chin of cat becomes lumpy with "pimples" and cat rubs chin against the wall or any hard object. But, it is always recommended that one should go to veterinarian to make sure that the problem is not more serious than a few zits or pimples.

Causes of acne in cats:

There are many factors that lead to the production of pimples in cats.

1.  Over-secretion of sebaceous glands or oil glands:

Acne in cats appears when oil glands in animals are over-active and produce oil in excess. This is what causes acne in humans as well.

2.  Use of plastic food bowls:

This is one of the most common causes of acne in cats. Plastic is porous and has high tendency to provide safe haven for bacteria to grow. When a cat comes in contact with this plastic bowl, bacteria are transferred to cat’s chin and an infection results.

3.  Frequent use of dry cat food:

Dry cat food is another major reason of stimulating acne in cats. Try to avoid feeding dry food to your cats.

4.  Stress:

Hormonal disturbances during the phase of frustration and anxiety cause pimples in cats.

5.  Poor grooming habits:

Poor groomed cats have more chances to get itchiness, allergies, inflammatory diseases, fleas or other skin parasites, and bacterial or fungal infections. Hence, cats should be groomed well to stay healthy.

Solutions are very simple if you want to prevent acne in your lovely cats.

• Switch to glass or ceramic food bowls.

Bird flu in pet birds and poultry birds is one of the most well-known diseases and is also known as Avian flu. It is caused by a form of influenza virus, orthomyxovirus, that usually only infects birds and sometimes infects pigs. Bird flu in pet birds is one of the contageious diseases and is readily transmitted by waterfowl. The highly pathogenic avian influenza A (H5N1) epizootic (animal outbreak) in Asia, Europe, the Near East, and Africa is unexpectedly very high. These continents are highly prone to avian influenza in the world. It is likely that H5N1 virus infections among domestic poultry have become endemic in certain areas and that sporadic human infections resulting from direct contact with infected poultry and/or wild birds will continue to occur.

There are more than 100,000 species of birds on the planet, but only a few of them can live with human beings as good companions. Certain species of birds include finches, pigeons, doves, parrots, African Grey parrot, Amazon parrot, caiques, canary, cockatiels, cockatoo, conures, macaws, parrotlet, parakeet, pionus, and rosella. They all are too social, friendly, and intelligent.

There are many chances that bird flu might attack your pet birds. However, there is no influenza A (H5N1) in the United States, there is no risk of bird flu in pet birds. The virus circulating in Asia, Europe and Africa has not yet entered the United States as described by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). But this does not mean that Americans should be care free about their pet birds can never be infected with avian influenza ever. You should be aware of all precautionary measures to prevent Bird flu in pet birds.

• Breathing problems

However, when symptoms begin to appear, treatment should start for emergency basis because fatality rate for bird flu in pet birds is alarmingly high.

Dog arthritis is common like arthritis in old human beings. Arthritis in definition means inflammation of the joints. Indeed, this is an old age disease; but it can also affect young people in certain circumstances.  It causes same problems as in human beings such as:

• Favouring a limb
